Difference between Fine Tuned Output Control : Purchase Order and the NACE cockpit Multiple Posting Check box. Please help me understand these two options. Req is to have just one Output generated no matter many times the PO is changed. I hear that by unchecking the multiple posting check box in the output types in the NACE cockpit disables the multiple generation of outputs (print/IDOC/Emails). I also hear that there is an another setting to achieve this goal i.e SPRO-->MM-->Purchasing-->Messages--> Output Control-->Message types --> Define Message types for PO -- Fine tuned Output Control: PO. My question is do these two scenarios serve the same purpose or not. Please help me understand.
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Diwakar and Bijay Kumar ,
Thanks for posting your replies. They helped me understand the scenario. But One last question. What if I uncheck the multiple posting flag in the NACE screen for a particular output type and keep the operation of triggering of the same output as 2.change . Will it still generate a new output ?? Technically it should not right coz I have removed the multiple postings flag in NACE. Help me with this

Hi,
Refer my above reply where clearly mentioned, If you change any PO(ME22N), the PO layout with change version triggered with Print Operation ( 2-change ) which is in Fine-Tuned Control: Purchase Order segment.
But if you DO NOT select check box of Multiple issuing in General DataTAB of your PO output type(message type), then you can not take multiple PO print for same PO, only single copy of PO print allowed.

Hi,
Indicator: Print Operation (1-New) is used for triggering PO message type(PO output type) when PO is created(ME21N) and Print Operation ( 2-change ) is used for triggering PO message type(PO output type) when PO changed (ME22N)) in following path:
SPRO -> MM -> Purchasing > Message -> Output control -> Message Types -> Define message type for Purchase Order -> Fine-Tuned Control: Purchase Order
For Multiple Print of same PO,In General Data TAB select check box of Multiple issuing in following path:
SPRO - > MM - > Purchasing - > Message - > Output control - > Message tyPes - > Define message type for Purchase Order- > Define Message Types for Purchase Order - > Message Type for PO
If you do want changes message type((PO output type)) at all in PO then select check box of CannotBeChanged.

Purpose is distinguished by operation in fined tuned control, while you flag an output type for multiple
issuing, you specify in fined tuned control, which operation you will trigger the output again
