Handling Unit Management in SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Hi Experts,

I am trying to work with Handling Units in SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

The idea is to manually create Handling Units in SAP and then create outbound deliveries assigned to these Handling Units.

I am looking for an APP to create Handling Units in the system (Tcode HU02 in on-premise systems). 

Is it possible to follow this process flow in SAP S/4HANA Cloud?

I will also like to know if it is possible to create Handling Units via API.

Hi Jorge,

the short answer to your question is: Yes, you can work with Handling Units in S4HC.

Cloud WM supports Handling Units on Stock level and Inbound/Outbound Deliveries. This is described in the Warehouse Management Scope Items on Best Practice Explorer (E.g. 3DV) For example you can pack Materials during receipt from production, store them in your storage bin and delivery the Handling Unit to your customer.

Since 2002 it has been enabled to create Handling Units in (LE-)Outbound Deliveries.

This can be done by App Change/Create Outbound Delivery (VL02N).

IM managed Handling Units and API based creation of Handling Units is not supported yet. But maybe the above mentioned processes are fitting to your needs.

Hello Jorge,

As such there is no Handling Unit Management solution available in S/4HANA Cloud, but you can still check the below suggested possibilities;

App: Pack Warehouse Stock

--> With above you can create HUs and pack stock into HUs.

App: Pack Outbound Deliveries

https://help.sap.com/viewer/87f9b54f9c4f4e75aff0061860a6589a/2002.500/en-US/52c473967a0d4374856000d3...

--> With this you can pack in the outbound process.

App: Change Outbound Delivery (Nothing but ERP VL02N)

--> With this you can create HUs in the inbound process, then later pack inbound delivery items into HUs before you post goods receipt.

Additionally use app to see information about the history under "HU History" and "WT History", as HU itself will have no information about the batches, but the HU-items and warehouse tasks will have the batch information.
