What's Global Company Code in SAP?

As per my attached screenshot, guide me, how can i create this Global Company Code, so i can select it in the Company Code's Global Parameter screen as shown in this attached screenshot.

Hi

IMG: SAP NetWeaver -> Application Server ->IDoc Interface / Application Link Enabling (ALE) -> Modelling and Implementing Business Processes -> Global Organizational Units -> Cross-System Company Codes

In tx OBY6,select the field and press F1, then "man with a key" (Customizing) button and will take to customizing point

I created the Global Company Code [XBEV01] and trying to assign it to 4 Company Codes but when i tried to assign it to 2nd, 3rd and 4th Company Code [after successfully assigning it to 1st one], it is displaying the following error;

A co.code was already assigned to cross-system co.cde XBEV01

Message no. FC073

Diagnosis

The same cross-system company code was allocated to two different company codes.

I cannot assign this Global Company Code to more than 1 Company Code?

Also i need to know, the importance of Global Company Code if i am comparing it with a Comapny ID for the Company Codes for a client....

It's a 1 to 1 relationship.

Why do you need Glocal Company Code ? Do you have a distirbuted enviroment with IDocs / ALE ?
