Hi,
In the starter system we can see that all GL Account groups have open ranges i.e. 000000000 to ZZZZZZZZ. Which means any GL can be created in any of the account groups and is not controlled by number ranges.
I would like to know the SAP recommendation to define the account group number ranges. If we set the number ranges based on our requirement will it create any problems?
Thanks

Dear Zohair
I have described one of the examples of a Company Code , Plant, Profit Centre and Cost Centre structure in the other thread that you have posted.
https://answers.sap.com/questions/13254969/view.html
To align to that structure the GL code numbering will follow the numbering convention from the company code.
Depending on which country you are configuring for and how many GL accounts you need, there is a recommended GL numbering digits. It begins with 5 fto 6 or European Co Codes and ranges to 10digits for the American CO Codes. That's my general observation. The length of the digits will depend upon the number of Co Codes that will share the same Chart of Accounts.
My recommendation would be. to select an even no digit 6,8 or 10. For S/4 Cloud use 8 digits
Co Code 1000 + 4digit GL code will give you 9999 GL accounts, increment it by 100 and you can have upto 999 accounts.
Tip: If your GL structure is more than 999 accounts there is something wrong with your PC/CC structure as it would appear that the SAP foundational Enterprise Objects are not properly aligned.
