I am working on restructuring my organizations functional areas. Currently, they are used to identify a detailed program, which constitutes a specific phase or segment of operations. They are currently two-digit alpha-numeric codes. I am trying to restructure the FA to identify organizational missions and associated sub-goals. Is there a preferred way to do this? Currently, I am thinking on identifying a new element to house the current functional areas which offer the same functionality of as functional area. I have done some initial research on Financial Management Area as a potential solution since it is also in the FM module. Would this approach work? Are there any other suggestions on identifying mission and goals in the functional area vs the financial management area or vice versa?
