Freight booking with multiple Carriers - Charge calculation

Hello,

In S4HANA Public Cloud 2402, for Transportation Management -> We have a Freight Booking (Port to Door) with a main-carriage & an on-carriage stage, where

Main-Carriage -> has an executing carrier (BP1) and a broker/freight forwarder (BP2)

On-Carriage -> has a separate executing carrier (BP3)

Since in this cloud version, we really cannot calculate charges in road FO created for on-carriage, how to achieve the charge calculation to happen for all three carriers (BP1, BP2, BP3) in the freight booking itself?

Rgds,

Anjani

Hi Anjani,

We support the below scenario in the public cloud with the feature called invoicing carrier at stage tab of freight booking.

Please follow the below steps:

  1. As per your set up the Freight booking will have the main carrier at general tab. Please have the relevant agreement for the main carrier and purchase org.
  2. Additionally you have to maintain the invoicing carrier level for the respective stage as for instance on carriage - here the column "Invoicing carrier level" shall be maintained as stage carrier and then provide the invoicing carrier ID. The executing carrier is a carrier responsible for execution but invoicing carrier are the one which has to be paid.
  3. Screenshot below for reference

  5. Once you have this set up , you must maintain the respective agreements for the invoicing carrier and purchase org.
  6. Finally based on aforementioned steps the different charge items will be created for respective main carrier and the invoicing carrier at each stage. This can be then taken for follow on process for accrual posting for each such entity- here its main carrier, invoicing carrier1 and invoicing carrier 2.

Hope this helps!

Thanks and regards,
