I am having trouble to enroll the old machine which have been depreciated for the last 7 years to Fixed asset master data in SAP B1 for new customer.   The machine has 8 Years useful life in depreciation plan.  And my customer started use SAP B1 from this year.   Do i have to make the fiscal period from 2016 (7 years ago) for the capitalization for this machine ?    Most of materials and You tube lecture for SAP B1 FA is about new machine purchase and capitalization, not the depreciated one.      Could anyone give me some guide for this case ?

Thanks araob

I thought that way too, but then how can i show the historical cost and accumulated depreciation of fixed cost to balance sheet.

You can make a debit of the value already depreciated as a fixed asset and, as a counterpart, a credit of the same value as accumulated depreciation.

I am looking for the solution using FA master entry for asset register and depreciation, not manual journal entry. If i use Excel import to enroll FA master, FA master is made with the information i want to input, but journal entry is not made for the asset registration. So, i use Capitalization for the asset enroll, then the JE is made, but the Asset master data is increase by that.

Hello araob. Now i understood that the opening balance of FA and Accumulated depreciation should be migrated by separate account balance migration (JE) , not by FA exel sheet transaction.. Thank you.

That's it, Yang. You'll use the FA Master Entry for the depreciation from now on, but use a JE just to adjust the Balance Sheet with the past information that you want to be able to see in future accounting reports.
