From what I read, FAGL_FC_TRANS is used for valuating local currency2.
But then again, FAGL_FC_VAL can also be used to valuate local currency2 (group currency).
So what is the use of FAGL_FC_TRANS or difference in functionality?

Could you please share if FAGL_FC_TRAN can translate reconciliation account type A for fixed assets? I only see references to AP, AR and non reconciliation accounts. Thank you!

Hello,
As response to your question, please note that:
The currency translation (FAGL_FC_TRAN) allows you to valuate the balances of an additional currency (2nd or 3rd local currency).
In General Ledger Accounting, you can only perform a currency translation as part of the foreign currency valuation.
Prerequisites
- You have performed a foreign currency valuation and have made all the settings for it in Customizing (see Foreign Currency Valuation).
- You have defined account determination for the translation in Customizing for Financial Accounting (New).

Hope this helps you..

Hello Pixel 8 ( nice name )
There are two process in foreign currency :-
1) valuation-i.e. to valuate all the open item in local currency
2) translation- to valuate all in group or consolidation currency for consolidation purpose
FAGL_FC_VAl- is to valuate the open item in local currency
FAGL_FC_TRANS- is to translate the balance sheet item & P&L to group currency for consolidation purpose.
Hope this helps
Regards
Rishab
