External number range for Billing Documents (VF01) possibility in SAP S/4HANA

Hello Experts, 

we have a requirement to map external number range to billing types in SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud edition.

We had assigned external number range and ticked external and this is reflected in NRIV table as well for RV_BELEG  number range object.

However while creating billing document, there is no option to key in manual external number range as per the assignment. Please do let us know any possibility to achieve this SAP S/HANA both in Standard and through enhancement route. 

Also, please advise whether external billing number range is possible if we implement BADI as below.

Could you please advise on the possibility to have external number range for billing documents both in SAP Standard or in enhancement route using BADI without having any prefix in number range.
