Extending Decimal Places for Currency Amounts in SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud

5,115

Hi,

We have a requirement to extend the additional decimal place to currency amounts in SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud. The standard currency amount has only 2 decimal places, but we need to extend it to 5 decimal places(Sales and Purchase). Is it possible to achieve this through customization or by referencing an existing currency? Any suggestions or solutions to address this requirement would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Karthic

Hi Karthick,

In SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public edition the currencies are pre-delivered with 2, 3 or no decimal places (it’s not possible to create new currencies or change the pre-delivered ones yet).

Based on my experience I don’t see how a customization could help either.

I’m sorry I don’t have a positive answer or alternatives for your requirement at this point in time.

Hello Ernesto,

Is it correct that SAP set the currency decimals according to ISO 4217, is there any SAP note referring to this?

Hi, is there any workaround for not having Amount field length extensión is SAP S/4 Hana Cloud Public? We´ve placed a SAP Note and they confirmed us that currently there is no plan to make it available. The proposed solutions from SAP are not sufficient: -You can divide the value into several line items, having more than one line for the same material -You can divide the value and you can use more than one condition with half of the value -You can use different unit of measure (thus reducing the value that has to be entered) -You can use a different currency which does not demand as many digits We are from Argentina (inflation adjustment problems) and we can´t propose SAP S/4 Hana Cloud Public to some customers if we can´t offer a solution for this problem. Thanks.
