Export from SAP to Spreadsheet > comma separator is changing to dot

Hi Experts,

Would like to ask for your help regarding this issue being encountered by a specific user.

He's exporting ALV from SAP to spreadhseet. However, the export is showing "Excel error "We found a problem with some content in '<filename>.xls'" then it will attempt to repair the file. Upon repair, it will remove comma separator and replace it with dot (e.g  from 2,321,858.98 in SAP, export to excel will show 2.321,858.98/ from 282,244.00 SAP to 282.244.00).

Following are the notes and items already checked:

1. Uninstall SAP and Excel - same issue

2. Tried the user to access SAP on my machine - same issue. But if I tried to do it from my end on my machine - no issue (all good)

3. Other users has no issue issue, only this specific has it.

4. Created test ID in test system copied from user's ID in production - no issue (all good). So seems not authorization issue in SAP.

Can you please let me know if there are any additional checks I can perform? Thank you so much!

Please explain step by step how we can reproduce "He's exporting ALV" i.e. transaction code, screens, actions, custom ABAP code used, etc. Thank you.

Thank you Sandra! The user is using a custom tcode which can generate ALV report. But as mentioned issue is just happening to this one user only. Also, we noticed that its happening for $$$ field (Total Cost, Unit Cost). We tried with other report with numbers with comma separator and he's able to export properly.

You may ask an ABAP developer to run SAT without aggregation to trace the transaction for user 1 which doesn't work and user 2 which works and compare the two traces. The differences should help the developer understand the reason why the export is different.

Did you try to reset ALV export option of this user with report SALV_BS_ADMIN_MAINTAIN ?

Hi Raymond, Thank you for your time. The ID of the user is not included on the list. I think this report is to remove the format if you selected "Always Use Selected Format" in the export option of spreadsheet. User is able to select other format, however when the file is opened in Excel the comma is changing to dot. We also noticed that this issue if for field with Currency (Unit Cost, Total Cost). He tried with other ALV with comma separator and he's able to export properly. Forgot to mention, that he's using a custom tcode to general a report.
