Exchange rate type not defined for country

Hi All,

I have noticed an error message during testing of postings using tax codes. The error message nbr is FF802 (Exchange rate type is not defined for country XX). When we are testing postings on accounts for which tax code is ignored (not relevant) it is ok. Could you please let me know where exactly we have settings and how it is related to the tax codes ? I have never seen that connection previously.

Thanks,

Points will be rewarded afterwards.

Hi Tomasz,

The exchange rate types are defined at country level in General Settings and the company codes with that country can access that. Normally the exchange rate types are defined as M, P, B and G. M is for average rate and is used in FI, while P is for planning in CO.

Go to IMG- General settings-currencices- exchange rate types

Here u maintain the exchange rate types

In the next step u need to main the translation ratios for the currency translation.

Only then u will be in a position to maintain the exchange rates.

All the three steps are to be maintained one after the other.

Hey,

Please read my question carefully. I know where to maintain exchange rate types but i do not know where it is assigned to country like NZ (New Zealand) and why posting is ok when i'm using accounts for which tax is not needed and when i have tax codes it is red message as i wrote above...

Thanks again,

Tomasz
