Hello,
There is a request to move the same HU between warehouses. Is this somehow possible? It seems that the standard process does not support this (i.e., standard STO: outbound delivery from one warehouse with HU A and inbound delivery into the second warehouse as HU B).
We would like to produce HU A in Warehouse A (Goods Receipt from production + putaway), move it to Warehouse B, and ship it from there. It should also be possible to move the HU from Warehouse A to Warehouse B, then potentially move it back to Warehouse A and ship it.
How can we achieve this?
I am considering the following solution - does it make sense?
Produce goods in Warehouse A (Storage Location A).
Transfer goods between warehouses using a manual STO (outbound delivery from Warehouse A, inbound delivery into Warehouse B).
During inbound processing in Warehouse B, use a custom ZPPF action to pack the material into the same HU as in the outbound delivery.
Question: What about HU number intervals?
I’m thinking of setting an internal number range for Warehouse A and configuring Warehouse B to accept that range as external. This might work, but what if we want to move the HU back to the original warehouse later?
Sales Order with a shipping point linked to Warehouse A or B.
Specific primary storage location used in the Sales Order, representing the ship-from warehouse (WHA or WHB).
MRP planning logic: if the material is not available in the primary SLOC for the given warehouse, create an STO.
Process the STO in the same way as the manual STO described above.
Once all material is available, create a standard shipping delivery and ship.
Thank you
Standa
