Error VF171 in VF01 while creating sales invoice - order related

Error VF171 - While creating and order related sales invoice VF01 (No delivery). Error - Document does not contain any items with open quantities.

Copy control VTFA contains item category TAD (Services). Billing relevance B in item category TAD. Item category group in material master is LEIS.

Please let us know why this error message appears and how to resolve the issue. Thanks.

Hi,

I had the same error today while creating a sales order for a service material. I finally found that the status had to be set to release as they had configured status profiles for sales orders.

Try VA02 --> Header Details --> Status Tab --> Object Status --> See if there are any options for sales order release, choose that and save.

now try VF01 to create billing document with reference to your sales order number.

Without the related screen shot, it will be difficult to assist you. Did you check whether there is no subsequent document to that sale order from document flow? Did you check any customized validation is preventing the process? Did you check the line item is not set to Reason for Rejection?

We have already checked the previous post. The post discusses delivery related billing and item category TAN.

Whereas, our case is related to order-related billing. We are using item category TAD and item category group LEIS.

When you create a discussion and start adding additional informations as asked by the members, please add the same under Comments anot under Answer as you were not answering but sharing additional information. Also, when you add under comments, a mail will be triggered to who you respond. By the way, I have converted your above Answer to Comment
