Error message HUDIALOG107 from Goods Movement DN(HOD)

Hello Team ,

We are trying to unpack DN which is assigned to Handling unit managed storage location and this storage location is not WM managed. When we unpack and try to save, the system throws error message "HUDIALOG107-Within the delivery, posting change not possible for stocks.

I tried deleting assignment of HU and deleting the DN and it worked . In this case, the Handling unit is still in Handling unit Managed storage location and I need to use VLMOVE to transfer back the stock to the required storage location. I am just wondering how the partner storage location comes into play here. When we unpack, system supposes to post the stock back to partner storage location automatically(thats my assumption) and in this case, it's not.

Kindly clarify if unpacking DN is not allowed in Handling unit managed storage location and the only way is to delete the assignment and then delete DN. Also, let me know how the unpacked material automatically get posted to Partner storage location. The DN type is HOD- Outb.Deliv.GI Mvmnt which is created when we issue the goods with 261 mvt type from the HU-managed storage location.

I again replicated the scenario to clear your doubts.

Answer:-

1) I took anon assigned handling unit in table VEKP as only non assigned handling units with object status 12 can be unpacked.

2) In HU02, I unpacked the handling unit

3) A material document gets generated on saving the HU02

4) If you observe the material document in MIGO, you can see 311 movement gets triggered.

How 311 gets triggered?

In Customizing of handling unit

If you look into the configuration, it says that when operation transfer posting between storage is performed which technically is Unapcking, an inventory management 311 movement type is called with the corresponding stock category.

when you delete the assignment of HU, HU still remains in HU managed storage location and you need to manually move it by VLMOVE which you already doing

Since you have mentioned that you storage location is non WM managed, the note provided by experts Laksmipathi will not work.

I will clear doubt with the screen shots and examples which i have replicated in my system.

First of all understand what is Unpacking in HU managed location. Unpacking a material from an HU means that the stock of the material is posted to a storage location that is not HU-managed, technically to partner storage location.

When ever you conduct unpacking, 311 movement type gets triggered in background the main material is transferred to partner storage location. This is because in HU managed storage location, we cannot have mixed stock(Packed materials in HU and non packed material)

The configuration of Plant, storage location 0100(HU managed) and partner storage location 0001 conveys message that whenever we conduct a inventory related transaction either 101, 261 or 311, a delivery will be created

Now, I replicated the process in my system and got to know a new thing.

I have a delivery where handling unit is already assigned

The material once being emptied, material to be packed is populated as below

If you see the table VEKP of HU, handling unit is assigned to outbound delivery

So, in nut shell, handling unit assigned to any objects, you cannot carry out Unpacking. only option is to delete the HU. This is standard functionality

Only those HUs can be unpacked which have object status as 12 non assigned handling units

I am familiar with Handling unit requirements and partner storage location assignments. Since you are also getting the same error, I reckon this is the standard SAP behavior and we won't able to unpack the DN from an HU-managed storage location.

Not sure how to achieve the above-mentioned system behavior during unpacking from HU-managed storage location. I can delete the assignment.However, while saving system just saves DN and I need to delete this DN and move the unassigned handling unit through VLMOVE.

I already check this OSS note. Our DN storage location is not WM managed and only HU managed . Hence note sure if this OSS note is relevant for our case.
