Dear SAP community,
I am facing the following issue regarding a Third-Party process (Sales Order -> Purchase Order).
I have migrated an open Sales Order 1378 with four positions (130, 140, 150, 160). Now I want to migrate a Purchase Order that is linked to the Sales Order. In the Account Assignment, it is possible to link the Sales Order to the Purchase Order item and that's what I did.
When I try to do that, I get the error message that Account XXX requires an account assignment relevant to cost accounting.
However, the Sales Order is an object that is relevant to cost accounting, isn't it? Why do I still receive that error message?
Thank you very much for your input! If you have any questions or if something is unclear, please let me know!
Best regards,

Hello @Api
Your account is a cost element in CO. Thus you need to provide a CO object for it, e.g. a cost center or an internal order. You can do that either directly in the account assignment screen and put default CO object(s) in the OKB9 configuration.

Hi @Dominik,
thank you very much for your reply! What I don’t understand, however, when I create a Sales Order directly in the system -> create a Purchase Request -> create a Purchase Order and look into the Account Assignment, then there is no cost center maintained. Why is it not necessary then, but becomes necessary when migrating the open PO? That’s what confuses me…
