Error M3897 raised with parallel posting

While posting the Goods movement documents parallelly for same material and Plant combination, below error raised:
The plant data of the material & is locked by the user &

Kindly go through the below documented KBA on the lock issue for simultaneous goods movement posting:
2528025 - M3897 for non valuated material 

As mentioned, The lock is not only necessary to avoid quantity inconsistencies caused by parallel goods movements but it also prevents changes to the material master. There is information on plant level that would have a hazardous impact if changed during a goods movement. 

Also, in order to avoid inconsistencies the Table MARC will be locked, this is as per system standard behavior.

Hi all,

this error occurs everytime two users are modifying (whatever trcode) the same material in the same plant causing MARC block. 

So try this, run SM12 with: 

lock argument = *material*
User = USER 

SAP will show all the locks exsisting on the material. Delete all the locks and try again.
