Equipment user status

Hi all,

i have the following requirement. I want a user status in the equipment that will not allow any financial postings to it. Is this possible?

I was thinking of setting a user status that will set the equipment status to inactive, but when i enter the user status the equipment status remain active. Whereas, only when i set the inactive status does the user status changes. Is it possible to achieve the visa versa?

Which transactions (tcodes) you want to be prevented for this equipment under INAC user status?

I want to prevent all financial postings, such as MIRO, FB01 (MIGO and IW31 i see it is possible)

Means you have the solution for IW31 and MIGO and you want it for MIRO and FB01. I doubt you would get a solution in this space, because you need to depend upon the user-exits related to other modules and also to be able to specify how the Cost center specified in the Equipment master would be connected to the present document being created.

You have rightly said that for IW31 solutions can be found with exits available in EAM space.

I am thinking with customizing and not user exits. In the user status it says not goods receipt available, no plant mainntenace documents etc.

Is it possible when i change the user status the equipment status to be set to inactive?

Tcode OIBS shows it is possible by selecting the Set radio button (Transaction control setting for your user status.)

I did that, but is works like this:  if i set the status inactive then it sets the user status as well but not the visa versa. I want when i enter the user status to change it to inactive.

You can do one thing.

With coding in user-exit IEQM0003 and using FM STATUS_CHANGE_INTERN you should be able to set the system status to INAC upon setting your User status. Just try it.

with INAC is it possible to post MIRO or FB01?

That should be the base information, which I assumed you to know it.  If it can not do it, all these exercises are not aligned at objective. I am not optimistic about it. Perhaps there is no link between Equipment and these transactions, which I mentioned in my first post.

I am setting in my user status that GR is not allowed, but i am able to perform GR. Why?

Such things happen with OIBS, in such cases, user-exits are better options.

but in such case i will have to put user exits in all sap system in order to check every time the status of the equipment,...

Hi Ali,

User status can not set System Status, Only it Can set User status.

"Set" Function doesn't work as User Status Changing System status.

Only Allowed, Forbidden etc will work.
