Forum,
I have one client machine who when opening SAP, they get the box appearing time and time again asking them to 'Enter IP Address or Server Name for the Licence Server'
Irrespective of whether they key in the IP address or DNS name, when they close SAP and load it back up, it prompts them to insert the server address again.
This has only started happening and the only change made was the addition of the SAP server's IP to the firewall exclusions. If the same users logs into windows on another machine it works fine. It's only happening on one pc.
Would anyone have any suggestions?
Regards,
Juan
This was resolved by ensuring the user has write/read privileges for the user profile folder on the machine with the problem.
The last connected company information is by default saved in folder #%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\SAP\SAP Business One#;
This folder path is set up at B1 installation folder, by default at 'C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One\Conf\b1-config-path.txt
Please check if last connected company information folder remains after user log off. If not, the last connected information will be lost.
3. In case of using the Roaming Profiles, the Local Settings folder is normally removed from the user profiles and then it will be synchronized to the roaming profile.
Therefore, login details are dropped when starting a new terminal session. You can edit the SAP Business One client configuration on the terminal server in 'C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One\Conf\ b1-config-path.txt.
Open the file and retype a path where the login details can be stored.
Eg. If you set the patch to %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\SAP\SAP Business One, it will be a part of the roaming profile, and the connection details will be stored in the profile.

Hi Juan,
Disable Anty-virus and Firewall and try again.
You have to both option for enter IP Address or Server Name.
But if you have VPN Connection then Enter IP Address only.
Thanks,
