Employee name mismatch in pa30 header and personal data infotype

Dear all,

We are facing an issue in employee master data in PA30 when i open a employee who's leaving action has been run,showing different name in tables PA0001-nachn and PA0002-nachn .

after checking in change log report S_AHR_61016380 for the user we found the employee job position has been assigned to new employee .In PPOME we checked only new employee exists under the position and new employee name has been written in old employee.

can any one guide me how to correct the name of the employee in PA30.

Dear All,

Deleted the Reference personal number from info type 031 and corrected the name of old employee .

this has resolved our issue.

Dear All,

we have observed there is an entry in info type 031 for new employee i.e old pernr number ,will this be the reason for retro updation of old pernr entry.

can any one suggest us how to correct the old record.
