Good Evening
I would like some clarity on planning a resource onto a customer project in Professional Services. If the employee has an employment start date in the future i.e 1 Feb 2021, and he/she record has been activated in S4 Hana prior to this, are you able to plan the user on a project as of today, but using the start date planned for the user as1 Feb 2021.
We have tried to plan the user but we do not see any availability hours for the user (1KC) going forward.
We have also noted on the employee record that it states future hire. We have not noticed this previously, is this a new enhancement?
Thanks
Theresa

Hi Theresa,
Thank you for sharing your question.
As you point out, the employment start date 01/02/2021 is the effective date for the ''work agreement" for an employee in S4HC. The work agreement is what is considered in staffing employees on projects. Although you may have activated the user prior to the beginning of the work agreement date (01/02/2021) the employee would not be available for project staffing prior to the start of the work-agreement date.
That said, you may create the project for which the employee will be planned on and staff them on the project given the resource request days are on or after the work-agreement date.
For your reference attached please find a quick demonstration I did on my end to clarify my response in addition to a conceptual diagram of the employee model in S4HC.
Hope this helps.
