EH&S WWI (WinWord Integration) and High Availability

Within the module EH7S of the R/3 Enterprise 4.72, we implement WWI WinWord Integration on a Windows 2003 server. The R/3 Enterprise 4.72 is runnig on IBM AIX 5.3 and oracle which is under HACMP clustering technology for High availability.

My question is: what is recommended for the High availability of WWI platform ? A MS cluster or because there is no database within WWI we just have to monitor WWI and restart it if it fails ?

Can somebody share experience around this topic ?

Hi Chris,

Don't know an exact answer to it but what we do is we have placed our (WWI) servers at the same place as our SAP servers (data center) and is monitored 24 X 7. We do get alerts in case if it goes down...

We have 2 kind of alerts... One is from SAP - a job is scheduled at SAP level to monitor the RFC destinations - in case if the RFC destination (ping) doesn't work -there will be a alert (this job will run at a frequency of hourly)... Other alert is from server management...

Hope it helps...
