I have a requirement to build a report in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) that displays Month-to-Date (MTD), Quarter-to-Date (QTD), and Year-to-Date (YTD) values for both the current and previous year. The user should be able to select a month, quarter, or year using a drop-down Story input control, and the report should dynamically show the corresponding data for both the current and previous years.
The story is built on top of a Datasphere Analytical Model (AM), and I have created several calculated measures (e.g., Net Sales, COGS). I am also using a date dimension, but currently, I need to manually select dates from both the current and previous years. Additionally, the date dimension is displayed in a hierarchy format, which requires drilling down after selecting a quarter or month, and this results in extra columns that make the report cluttered.
Is there a way to automatically fetch the previous year's data when the user selects a date for the current year, so I can avoid selecting dates for both years and eliminate the extra columns and the need to drill down?
Any suggestions or best practices for implementing this would be greatly appreciated!
