Does an MRP run delete or cancel planned orders if the min/max are set to 0.

Hi Folks,

We are working on MM deletions. One of the checks is to ensure there are no orders, including planned orders (STPOs). Currently, there are STPOs for every material I want to delete.

The other conditions are as follows:

  1. No stock on hand of any kind, and
  2. No demand (reservations, work orders etc)

Is an MRP-run expected to or able to rid the system of the planned orders (STPOs)?

Thank you for your input.

Kind Regards,

PM

Hello @PMoyo

MRP will delete planned orders if they are not needed anymore and if they are not fixed.

Best regards

Thank you @Dominik_Tylczynski. Are there any other conditions that must prevail for that to happen? Under what circumstances would the deletions be unsuccessful?

Hi @PMoyo There are no other conditions. MRP will delete superfluous planned orders if they are not fixed. If they are fixed, you will get an MRP exception, telling you that the planned orders are not needed and should be cancelled/deleted.
