Document Number Already assigned error in FB08

Hi Gurus,

I am having trouble with document reversal in FB08

It gives me below error

Document number xxxx 98114000 2019 was already assigned Message no. F5152 Diagnosis Document number 98114000 in company code xxxx and fiscal year yyyy has already been assigned. System Response Termination of processing. Procedure Check document number range zz in company code xxxx and fiscal year 2019 and correct the number range status if necessary.

I checked FBN1 and the number range is yet to be exhausted

Hi,

It is a program error what i faced ehp5 before,

Firstly, you have to be sure that it is a program error. Go to se16n and fill the stblg field with number "98114000", check if there are items more than one in a fiscal year and have different document numbers, yes it is a program error.

You have to clear the fields(stblg,stjah) of the document from bkpf* table which you want to reverse.

After deleting wrong datas,

Try to reverse it again from FB08. The system will generate a new reversal document.

If you don't have a developer and don't want to take this risky action.

Go to F-02(G/L Document Posting) in the command field and then go to Menu -> Document -> Post with reference.

Enter the following data:

• Document number
• Company code
• Select generate reverse posting
• Select Display line item checkbox

Finally, save the document.

Hi,

Do you see in BKPF table a document with number 98114000?

It could've been a result of messing up with number range in the past.
