DMS: Scan and attach document

Experts,

I have a requirement to scan a document from scanner tray and directly upload in DMS. I searched the forum and found threads which suggested to download Easy DMS from marketplace. 

Currently, I scan the document using a scanner software for Fujitsu scanner, save the file in my desktop as a first step and then attach the document to Business partner via DMS as a second step.

Instead of 2 steps, users wants to directly upload the document from the scanner tray and upload to DMS. 

I believe OpenText is a paid solution from SAP which might help in this regard. Since I just want to attach the document to BP, is there any other alternative option which does not need any 3rd party paid software.

Kindly share your inputs if this requirement is feasible.

Can you please let me know the feasibility to directly scan a document from a scanner tray and upload to DMS? 

I understand that if the above approach is not feasible, then I have to ask the users to first scan the file and save it to their desktop. And then as a second step, upload the document from their desktop to DMS.

Sorry for posting twice. For some weird reason, SCN screen is jumpy. Tried in Chrome as well as Edge and I see the same. Also, I am unable to delete the redundant comment.
