Hello,

I've seen your answers.

The viewer inside SAPGUI you use today is possible thanks to the OLE integration between the SAPGUI and the Office applications on your workstation (desktop or laptop).

With the Web, this is not possible anymore, because of the use of a web browser instead of the SAPGUI. This is the same problem with all SAP UIs as from the moment you use the web.

In a web browser, there is no way to have the exact same behaviour that you have today with the SAPGUI. However there are some possibilities to have simllar behaviours. For example if your attachments are stored in SharePoint, then they can be opened directly in the corresponding Office online application (word, excel, powerpoint, pdf, ...). Behaviour is as follows: You are in SAP WebGui, you click on the attachment -> a new window opens and displays the attachment directly in the office online application.

Note that this behaviour requires a specific ABAP addon to store the attachments in SharePoint and set the correct links in the SAP screens. Let me know if this could be of interest for you.

Hi,

When you say you want to display from a browser, a few questions:

  • Is it WebGUI or Fiori Apps ?
  • Are these attachments in the browser created with the Fiori Apps ?
  • The current viewer you are using in SAPGUI, is it a standard SAPGUI viewer or a viewer from another provider such as OpenText ?

  • The current viewer you are using in SAPGUI, is it a standard SAPGUI viewer or a viewer from another provider such as OpenText ? standard SAPGUI viewer
