A Course Type (or Business Event Type) should correspond to a given curriculum (what will be learned) and a duration (how many days it takes to learn it).
A Course (or Business Event) should relate to a given Course Type and to additionnal specifications of time and resources (when, where, with what instructor, etc...).
Participants (students) register for a Course.
For example, SAP Education's HR305 (Configuration of Master Data) is a Course Type. It corresponds to a given curriculum (detailed in it's Manual) and has a duration (5 days). If you register for it, you will be registering for a given Course, such as the one held in Sydney, AU from July 30 to August 3, or the one held in Copenhagen, DK, from October 8 to 12.You must be a registered user to add a comment. Hello Sai,
The term Course is not used in Training and Event Management (TEM) and is only used in Learning Solution (LSO). In TEM the correct term is Busines Event.

Dear Sai Ram
As explained in SAP help website :
A course type is the grouping of courses that have the same objective, content, and form. You store the attributes that are typical for all courses of a given type with the course type.
A course is a structured process defined by a training provider aimed at imparting skills and knowledge. In the system, a course is the actual scheduled event, a specialization of a course type, defined by the attribute delivery method.
In simple language and for example :
I will create a course group (broad classification) : English Courses >
Now English Courses Group can have course types like
1. Beginners English Courses
2. Advanced English Courses
Now , coming to course... This is the actual date when the above course types can be conducted e.g.
Beginners English Courses can have courses scheduled on 20.07.2012, 22.07.2012, 24.07.2012
Hence these will be the courses which will take all the attributes from course type
and the employees will be booked on these dates... like ABC employee can take the course dated
20.07.2012 and XYZ employee can take the course datea 22.07.2012
So, courses are the actual dates on which bookings of the employees are done.
Rest you can find details on SAP help website.
Hope this clarifies your doubts.
Many Thanks

Hi,
The course will belong to a course type. The course type provide the general attributes while the course will have specific. e.g:
Course English will occur at Bangalore on 21st July from 9am to 12 pm and needs a particular room A and instructor Ram.
Course type English will be having general properties about course like valid from 2011 to 2015, will be of 1 day, require a room and a instructor. Its always suggested to store as much information as you can at course type level because it will save time in creating the course as all the information will be copied.

Hi
Course group is ERP , Course type - SAP and Course is SAP PY , SAP Rec etc. Topics.
In SAP LSO & T&E module, all the employees enrollement will be done at Course level , these courses are again divided into Course with resources and course without resources.
Here Resources means to conduct a course , we may require Projector , seats, course material , etc...
without resources means just a course conduct without taking into all the above resource cost.
All the course object details are stored in HRP1000 and couse type to course relationships are stored in HRP1001

Hope this will help.
