Difference between Assignment of People and Assignment of Person responsible. ( RSH )

Hi Experts,

With the new 43R(RSH), users can assign people through the Maintenance Scheduling Board (F2603). After assignments are made and operations dispatched, these assignments do not appear in the Person Responsible tab of the Maintenance Order or in Perform Maintenance Job (ready to perform). To have the assignments reflected, users need to open the 'Assign Maintenance Order Operation' app (F3423) and manually assign a person responsible, or the technician has to self-assign using Perform Maintenance Job.

Question: What is the purpose of having an assignment option in the Maintenance Scheduling Board (F2603)?

Hi Riyal,

Assign people is based on the operation split and identifies the executing technicians which could be multiple – with one-to-many relationships. The person responsible is the one who has true ownership of the operation or order, and typically the one entering the time confirmations. Depending on your process, one or both could be relevant for you.

Thanks, Ryan. The third link is more relevant. I expected the Assignment of Person to Operation via Maintenance Scheduling Board (F2603) to help with assignment and dispatch from single app, but it doesn't. The current function of assigning people isn’t reflected in WO, which isn't helpful. I'll wait for the Q4 release. Until then, assigning people from Maintenance Scheduling Board (F2603) doesn’t make sense for my needs, though it might work in other scenarios. Thanks, R
