Determing of the Scheduled release date

Hi guys,

I have a question, maybe some of you guys know the answer:

I am trying to find out how the so called "Scheduled release date" is determined (see the following attachement).
The date can be found for example in the transaction CO03 in the "General" data in the row "Release".

Does anybody know how the date is determined?
We are using a SAP ERP system and also an external SAP APO system, if this is helpful.

It depends on the release period maintained in scheduling margin key in MRP view2 of material master.
