Hello,
We are on ECC 6.0, SP 0. We have the new depreciation calculation activated.
We have fixed assets with two depreciation areas. One of these depreciation areas uses a depreciation key with Depreciation to the day (XDAILY) activated. As per my understanding the activation of Depreciation to the day in the depreciation key would ensure the Asset value date is used for calculation of the depreciation. Furthermore SAP states in the documentation: "Any period control methods entered in the depreciation key are ignored for the entire useful life of the asset. This applies to all transactions (acquisitions, retirements, and transfers). The system always uses the asset value date as the depreciation start date."
However, I've noticed that this isn't the case. All acquistions calculate the depreciation as of the depreciation start date (AFABG). While the Asset value date of the acquisition is equal to the posting date and thus different than the depreciation start date (AFABG).
Any ideas why this is the case? And what should be done to make sure the depreciation is calculated from the Asset value date instead of the depreciation start date (AFABG)?
Thanks,
André
