Hi experts
We have a situation here where we have three MRP areas in our plant, each comprising a set of storage locations. Same material is produced in each MRP area and the components , subcomponents are also the same in each MPR area.
Requirement:- The FERT material they are running MRP at the plant level but the dependent requirements for the components and subcomponents are to flow to the respective MRP area.
They have same BoMs in each of the MRP areas, so we cannot maintain the 'production storage location' in the BoM item level for component.
We also cannot maintain the 'production storage location' in the material master MRP2 view because then all the dependent requirements will also be flowing to the same MRP area, which is not acceptable.
As of now, I have maintained the following:
1. 'Production storage location' in the MRP 2 view of the MRP area segment of the component materials.
2. "Issuing storage location" maintained in the Production version of the material. There is a different receiving storage location for the material in the PV.
3. In the recipe for FERT as well as components/subcomponents, the supply area is maintained , which has the respective storage location. Each MRP area has different recipe, so this differentiation is possible.
I am trying the MRP group approach now. I have maintained the strategy 2 (only assemblies) for the plant/MRP grp combination in OPPR and maintained the same MRP group both at the material level (MRP1 view) and the MRP area segment level (MRP1 view). However, I am still struggling to make the dependent requirements flow to the respective MRP areas.
When I run the MRP for FERT, the planned order gets created for it at the plant level which is fine. However, for the components /subcomponents planned orders are getting created only at the plant level, not MRP area. It is just not able to determine the issuing storage location at all, from the Recipe/Production version Issuing Sloc / Production Sloc from the MRP area segment view.
Please help as this is very urgent.
Thanks.

Hello P R,
I am facing a similar issue. did you manage to resolve this? If so, could you provide the solution?
Thank you,

Hello Experts,
Any inputs on this will be appreciated.
As such I am able to make the dependent requirements flow using the following:
However , I am facing the situation, where if I maintain the MRP group in the material master MRP1 view and not in the MRP area's MRP 1 view, the dependent requirements are not flowing to the respective MRP area.
When I do not maintain at plant level and only at the MRP area's MRP1 view, it is still working but if I maintain only at plant level and not at the MRP area level , then it does not work.
Is that a consistent behavior ? Should I maintain at both the places or one of them is sufficient?
Which has a higher priority? The data @ the plant level in the material master or at the MRP area segment data.
Thanks and Regards
