Deleting Work Center Capacity Category

Hello to the community,

I have a need to delete and modify Capacity Categories on Work Centers that are being in active use. I am aware that they can be deleted in a way suggested on this thread, but considering that there is huge amount of orders that have to be modified - this is way is a 'no go' for my team.
Is there some kind of workaround for doing this quickly, a way to do some kind of mass replacing of the active work center in existing Production Orders and Routings with a dummy - just for sake of doing the deletion/change - and returning the Work Center back in use after that.

Hello

Deleting the work center capacity without removing the work center from orders and routings would lead to inconsistencies in your system and that's why it's forbidden.

There is a transaction to replace the work center in the routings (CA85N), but there is no feature to replace the work center in the orders. In fact, if you have already posted confirmations for the order, you won't be able to replace the work center at all.

Therefore, you should archive and delete those orders or simply create a new work center.

I heard a simmilar feedback from other colleagues and they have basically confirmed your points.
