Define valuation area at plant level

I'd like to create valuation area at plant level, but I am afraid it will active material ledger, is there any experts can explain what kind impacts if create valuation area at plant level?

Hi Roger,

If you are using S4 Hana system then material ledger is a mandatory requirement, we use valuation area as plant when we are performing production and product cost accounting activation!

Please check the KBA's:

SAP Note 2427356 - OMX1: valuation area cannot be added with ML type 9000

SAP Note: 2250128 - Transaction OMX1 returns error message OM516

SAP Note: 2547200 - Material Ledger and Multiple valuation approaches activation
