Deactivate EWM for SAP Public Cloud

Hi SAP team,

Our client is thinking of deactivating EWM for their SAP Public cloud system but we are not able to find any guidelines regarding this. Would you be able to help with the action items if we proceed with this deactivation? Will it be easily done through configuration or do we need SAP help? Thank you.

Dear Denlee, The mapping to link the storage location to warehouse is about customizing "Assign Warehouse Number to Plant and Storage Location", but it is not possible to remove the entries as long as the entries are maintained if the customizing is CBC managed. Below steps might help prevent the usage of EWM: 1. Change the Description of storage location such as "DO NOT Use" to warning the business users when they create orders. 2. Deactivate the sync GM for EWM with customizing "Activated Synchronous Goods Movements in the Warehouse", make sure that deliveries are mandatory when GR/GI stock from/to EWM and there is no sync. Then shipping BADIs like LE_SHP_CHECK_DISTRIBUTION Control Distribution of Delivery Documents can do the check before delivery distribution. 3. I'm no expert of MM area but I think there can be MM BADI to prevent material document creation in case EWM PI process or unplanned Goods issue which is trigger-ed from EWM side without deliveries. Hi Denlee,

Once the scope items for Cloud WM are activated, they can't be deactivated.

Depending upon how far you have gone with the configuration & setup of Cloud WM, the option would be to stick with non-warehouse managed storage locations. With non-warehouse managed storage locations you can still follow the standard LE logistics processes. Only for the warehouse managed storage locations the documents get distributed to the Cloud WM.
