Hi Gurus ,

We are now upgrading the server from R3 4.7 32 BIT to ECC 6.0 64 BIT . As per the upgrade plan we installed R3 4.7 64 BIT in our new server . Then we export the DB using system copy from the old server . Then we import that data into the new server R3 4,7 64 BIT . But now we getting the follwing error while import process .

ECC 6.0 required 10.2 so before start SAP Upgrade you have to Upgrade your database to 10.2.

After Import data you have to follow homo. system copy steps i.e. stms, rz10 etc.

One you system get migrated then you can use upgrade master.

Your process was not right how you can attach 9.2 DB to 10.2 ?

Install 9.2 64bit there and import 9.2 32bit DB.

I suggest use database specific method cold backup which is much faster then export/import.

Nikunj

HI Nikunj Thaker ,

Our old servers one of the block corrupted , so we are not able to take backup through 3rd party software or RMAN . So we planned to take system copy method . We installed oracle 10.2 for the new server . Existing server usend Oracle 9 .

Dear,

Then why are you using export/import method ?

You have to use Database Backup and Resore.

details steps.

install 64bit OS

Install 64bit DB Software

Install 64bit SAP CI.

Restore Database.

Attach Database.

32bit to 64bit migration is over.

Perform System copy methods like configure stms, rz10 etc.

Which database are you using ?

Regards,

Nikunj Thaker.
