Datas in Basicdata 2 in material master.?

hi experts

Can somebody explain me about the datas to be updated in basic data2 screen..?

1.client specific configuration box.

a. what is the use of variant configuration.?

b.Additional , wht is the use of additionals,wht to be enter and maintain.?

Hi,

In basic data 2 tab we give the following data,

Ind std Desc : Industry standard description: It is the description with which it is known as in the standard industry.

Basic material : The basic material from which it is made.

Environment related data: If the material is hazardous material we can define that material under a Dangerous goods indicator profile (DG indicator).This is helpful when hadling the material.Also we can define in the master about the other environmental details.

Design drawing : If any design drawing exists for the material those drawing details can be given here.

Client specific configuration

We can define here that a material is configurable.

That means we can define different variants for a material like colour, size,shape etc. This also we can define plant specific and cross plant.

Additionals: additionals are the materials which are defined along with a material.Ex: A hanger is additional for a shirt.

first hanger is defined under additionals material type,then it is attached to the parent material.
