Hi experts
It it possible to use the DG functionality in procurement of dangerous goods?
Example like - Alarming that the material is a DG at the time of placing order.
Control - by restricting authorization for placement of order.
Please let me know whether the DG functionality can be only used in SD or can be used in MM too.
warm regards
marias

Hi,
Dangerous good indicator profile (DGIP) in basic data 2 view of material master tells that the material is DG or not. After procuring only we will come to know about the DG charecter and regulations to be followed, then only we will create DG master in DGP1 (This is for LE only-shipping material)
coming to your point, during procurement or before procurement through PO creation or Contract creation, there is no indication or activation for DG material.

Ram.

Hi Marias,
sorry for the late reply..since noone answered ur query, i m answering
the term dangerous Good is applicable only while transporting, and as it is a SD process, once the dangerous goods come into warehouse/storage location, then this wil be taken care by HSM (Hazardous substance Management); you can have these controls by selecting material master view 2 (you need to activate environmentally relevant indicator) while procurement of that material.
Hope this will clarify your doubt,

Keshav
