Cycle Count IM

Hi,

We are implementing Cycle count process using IM (don't have EWM). We assigned CC Inv Code (A.B C) to all materials. Now when we schedule print Count documents (for the first time) it prints all active materials. It is not possible to cycle count all active parts, our question is what is the best practice for implementing Cycle Count in the middle of the year? Our understating is that because we never cycle counted before therefore system is
selecting all materials for counting, but its not possible to count all.

You are correct.  Because nothing has ever been counted the last count date will be blank for all materials and the material create date will be used instead.  This results in a everything being identified to count immediately.

It is technically possible to update the last count date via a direct table update to influence the planned count date but it is not recommended.

Hello Ashali,

When you create the job for Cycle Counting, may I suggest you to set some parameters like: 

• Storage Location
• Material Number
• Material Type
• Material Group
• Stock Types

Parameters like those, can help you to narrow your physical inventory according to your physical inventory planning.
