Dear gurus,
I have a question on upgrade. Let's say, now we are using ECC6, we change some standard setting, for eg. activate Sales view for material type ROH (for standard, Sales view is not activated).
Then if later on, we upgrade it to another version, all those customized on standard SAP will lose or it can carry forward to new system?
Thanks and best regads,

Hello HongNguyen
To activate view for material types is not a real modification in the standard because it does not mean to change the SAP code.
SPDD/SPAU will asks you to for possible adjustments over SAP code in standards objects.
Activating views does not change the standard.

Dear Hong,
Since a upgrade will be carried out on SAP Basic components, inturn it will affect the standard things which are dependent on those basic components. So only during upgrade process it will prompt you wether to modify the changes as per the standard ones or to keep the customised one through SPAU/SPDD adjustments. You should be more carefull during that process since it will be the deciding factor for your customized settings..

Santhosh.
Hi HongNguyen,
Loss of customized on standard SAP will happen if the object comes in the new version. In that case sap gives you the option of keeping your changes by doing adjustment in phases SPDD and SPAU. If you will not perform the adjustment then the object will be over written by the new version of sap object.

The answer is yes, customized on standard SAP could be overwritten during upgrade in fact you are asked if you want to keep those changes during the upgrade process. If you have Z programs they are not modified during upgrade but SAP standard will.

Hello HongNguyen,
The SAP Upgrade does not touch such customizing. This is to say, the upgraded system will contains all your current settings.
