Customer returns to be posted directly to Quality without creating an inspection lot

I need customer returns to be posted directly to Quality without creating an inspection lot, which can be achieved without activating the inspection setup.

As well as, Quality Inspection lots are created for Inspection Type 04 (Goods Receipt Inspection from Production).

While both processes can be managed separately, activating Inspection Type 04 prevents customer returns from being posted to Quality without an inspection lot.

I read through most threads but couldn't find an answer.

thank you for the details provided.

I guess you face error QA495 while you have an active inspection type 04 for the material and try to post the return.

It is normal, and the aim is to avoid stock inconsistencies. Please read SAP Note

824786 - QA495 despite deactivating the QM inspection.

When a stock-relevant inspection type is active in the material master, QM has exclusive control over the stock which is "enforced" via inspection lots. It is the standard process.
