Customer Hierarchy In Condition Contract

Hello Experts,

Wanted to know whether we need to have Pricing and Rebates Ticks (Green Check marks) in VDH1N for Hierarchy Nodes, even in S4 Hana, so that rebates pricing can be calculated for Hierarchy node at item level in the Condition contract.

Appreciate your inputs. Thanks in advance.

Hi @Kadudas,

I believe you do not necessarily need to check the "Relevant for Rebate" checkbox for hierarchy nodes in VDH1N. However, the "Relevant for Pricing" checkbox may or may not be required depending on the configuration of your Profile of Business Volume in SAP CCM.

I recommend reviewing your Business Volume Profile settings to determine whether pricing relevance is needed for your specific rebate calculation scenario.

Hello Victor,

Thanks for your reply. Yes I do have the following setting. My calculation lies within the Customer Hierarchy validity period

Do you suggest any particular structure to check in the Business volume profile?

I have created a Pricing table including Customer hierarchy (HIENR), but at item level in settlement document pricing, Customer Hierarchy is not recognized. Appreciate your inputs

Hi @Kadudas

What is the specific reason for creating a condition table at the Customer Hierarchy level?
Are you working with a single contract that includes multiple customer hierarchies with different rebate rates?

In S/4HANA Settlement Management, the traditional approach of creating condition tables and access sequences for pricing should be reconsidered. Unlike ECC or third-party systems, SAP CCM differentiates between:

  1. Business Volume Selection – Determines which transactions are included in the rebate calculation.
  2. Pricing Calculation – Determines how the rebate amount is calculated on the pre-selected business volume

By default, the only customer information available in the settlement document is:

  • The Rebate Recipient (Customer who owns the contract).
  • The Sold-To Party (if the contract includes multiple customers, and configuration allows for it).

If you need different rebate rates for different customers within the same contract, I recommend:

  • Using Split Criteria to transfer the Sold-To Party to the line item of the settlement document.
  • Adjusting the pricing determination configuration accordingly to apply the correct rebate rates.
