Custom CDS View with several dependencies deprecated

Hi SAP,

The Primary Datasource of a CDS view is deprecated and we are having several CDS views that are dependent on this view that also have CDS views that are dependent on this. There is no way to just replace the primary data source without causing issues for the other CDS views?

Dear Customer,

Due to stability reasons it is not possible to change a used Custom CDS View in an incompatible way. Exchanging the primary data source would very likely break the dependent other Custom CDS Views and hence breaking your Key User extensibility scenario.

Therefore we propose to replace the now deprecated data source step-by-step: You can create a copy of the first Custom CDS View and replace the deprecated data source in that way. Then step-by-step you replace the original Custom CDS View with the copied one.

We know this approach might be cumbersome, but stability is one of the main criteria of Key User extensibility.
