Hello experts,
We operate several company codes, each with its own business number. When an employee is transferred from one company code to another, the business does not want the employee’s CPP and EI to begin cumulating new under the new company code/business number. They want the system to take the deductions from the previous company code/business number into account to reach the Q/CPP and EI max.
Currently when an employee transfers, payroll will monitor the contributions until they get near the max for both companies combined, then they will manually stop contributions in the new company code to the end of the year via IT0464. Luckily, we don’t have too many transfers!
Does anyone have any ideas on how this can be automated?
Thanks,
Elizabeth

Hello Elizabeth, where you able to find a solution?

First, you should confirm that what you propose is approved by Revenu Canada.
We have many employees with multiple PERNRs in a single company code, therefore generating many T4s under the same Business Number (but often the 2 or 3 associated Accounts). Perhaps "Concurrent Employment" could solve your problem, but our School Boards still do manual verifications (through Custom Reports), create exemptions on IT0464 and Year-End Adjustments in December.
You should talk to an ABAP programmer if you want to "automate" the process or if you want to modify the Standard CPP/EI Calculation.
