Could not determine the year for TDS certificate number range

Dear All

Configured the Extended With Holding Tax(EWTH) for INDIA and when post the Contractor account through FB60, and simulated,the system showing the Dr and Cr and also TDS dedctable amount correctly. When try to save the same the system ging an error as below:

Could not determine the year for TDS certificate number range

Message no. 8I017

Diagnosis

The excise year could not be determined for generating the numbers for TDS Certificates. The number range is linked to the Excise Year and not on the financial year directly .

Procedure

Check the customisng done for the company code in the India version IMG. Maintain the start month for the excise year correctly .

can any one guide immediately, where is went wrong and how to rectify? Why the system asking the Excise Year not the FY

In ECC6.0 EHP7 edition 2, you might not find this "MG>Logistics-General>Taxes on Sales/Purchases>India>specify Excise Year" path.

The path to resolve the above error for the aforementioned versions is as follows:

1. SPRO > Logistics-General > Tax on Goods Movement > India > Basic Settings > Maintain Company Code Settings.
2. In the Excise Year field, enter the first month of your excise year. For example, if your excise year starts in April, enter "04".& Save.

Here mention the start date as april 4. Your error would be resolved
