Cost Element Category 90 / Statistical Cost Element in Public Cloud

Hello,

In relation to this question raised before Issue with the GL Account (balance sheet account) master data- Cost element category 90 | SAP Commun..., customer needs to implement an active budget checking on the Inventory (BS) accounts or stock items. Thus, the statistical cost element category 90 has to be set in the relevant (material) inventory account so that budget checking for the stock items will be activated (check 'Apply Statistically' in the GL Master).

As of Cloud Release 2208, however, cost element category 90 has been removed without providing any alternative solution regarding the active budget checking of BS accounts (i.e. material/stock or asset).

Please provide any solution or even a workaround in order to actively check the budget of these BS accounts. Is there a need to activate any scope item or an additional function for this will eventually be available in the future? Any rationale also as to why the CE category 90 has not been supported since 2208?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, G/L account type of "Balance Sheet Account" is not supported in Predictive Commitments Management, c.f.,

Note 3222252 -SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2302: Release Restriction Note ( https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/3222252 )

under the Section Predictive Accounting: Predictive Commitments Management:

  • Purchase orders or purchase requisitions using a G/L account of cost element category 90 (on tab/subscreen “account assignment”) is not supported, because the G/L account type is "Balance Sheet Account". Therefore, the account assignment wbs-element in combination with asset is not supported.

Suggest you to raise feature request.

Best Regards,
Owen

1 Configure the GL account in OBYC with BSX

2 Go to FS00 to change the GL account , Click 'record account assignment' in 'control data' and  save

3 check category of the GL account in the table CSKB, you can see it with category 90

4 Back to OBYC and move the GL account from BSX
