Cost center planning - price calculation

Former Member

Hi gurus,

(I am new to Controlling, and so please bear with me if I ask you basic questions)

My ultimate goal is to create a plan/actual variance report for the 'Painting' activity.

This is what I have done so far.

1. As a first step, I created an activity type - Painting - with the unit of measurement 'hour'.

2. I created a cost element (category 42), so I can allocate the costs incurred for this activity to other cost centers.

3. In tcode KP26, I entered the plan values for each of the periods and chose the value of the price as 0001 (default value). However, I would like to enter a price of $10/hour for this activity.

However, I dont understand how to assign a price to this activity. How do I make this configuration setting?

Also, how do I post 'actual' values for this activity type? I am asking this because the 'unit of measurement' is hour, and usually all the FI transactions are in $.

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

Regards,

Vijay.

Hi fellows

Pls dont forget to say that before run KSPI, you must run KSS4 if there is a splitting structure for activity+cost center.

In short words, your production cost center has two activities: labor and machine.

So activity labor must consider only accounts from labor expenses.

Then by running KSS4 you assure your activity will have distinct prices.

Is there any way to calculate price for individual cost centre? KSPI is allow for cost centre group.
