Hi gurus,
(I am new to Controlling, and so please bear with me if I ask you basic questions)
My ultimate goal is to create a plan/actual variance report for the 'Painting' activity.
This is what I have done so far.
1. As a first step, I created an activity type - Painting - with the unit of measurement 'hour'.
2. I created a cost element (category 42), so I can allocate the costs incurred for this activity to other cost centers.
3. In tcode KP26, I entered the plan values for each of the periods and chose the value of the price as 0001 (default value). However, I would like to enter a price of $10/hour for this activity.
However, I dont understand how to assign a price to this activity. How do I make this configuration setting?
Also, how do I post 'actual' values for this activity type? I am asking this because the 'unit of measurement' is hour, and usually all the FI transactions are in $.
Thanks in advance for your guidance.
Regards,
Vijay.

Hi Vijay
1. Your cost ele assigned in activity type would be category 43 and not 42
2. In KP26, there is an option to enter Price also i.e. Fixed price and Variable price... you can enter your price there
If you want to calculate price through the system, Then Plan expenses in Kp06 and Plan the Activity Qty in Kp26 and then calculate activity price through KSPI
3. Now coming to actuals - The actuals against this act type will be confrmed through production confirmations in PP module.. your FI bookings in USD does not directly affect the Activity type...
