Consume a REST Service on Cloud Application Studio

Hi,

First of all I am Junior Developer also pretty new on whole SAP environment. I am able to use Cloud Application Studio for SAP Business ByDesign.

I'd like to ask a question about consuming web services(REST or SOAP). I've tried many examples around the internet but almost none of them worked for me so far(some of them was outdated some others just didn't worked).

Eventually Followed this guideline step by step, configured an external web service, communitaction scenario and pinged successfully. Then created required BO, script files also UI screens according to document;

But when I click new button on the OWL preview screen it gaves me following unknown error;

I checked all fields of my solution recreated web services and BO's from scratch but still doesn't came up with any successful result.

I would gladly share more information if required.

I found my ABSL code causing the problem. While i fixed that error, problem still occurs. Now i'm able to get response 200 from the web service along with JSON data. Sample of returning data like below;

Now I have another problem, how can I parse this JSON(or XML) in Cloud Application Studio?

Hello fceylan,

I hope you are reading this. As I can see in your Post you were sending a GET request to a webservice to gain some information. I am trying the same, but unfortunately the content-element of the RESTCallResult is empty. I can see that the request was done successfully since "RequestUrl" and "Code" are filled and the Response Code is 200.

For every other webservice request I did so far, the content element was always filled with some xml or json data the webservice responded. I am sure that my current webservice, which Request Method is GET, responds with the data. I've checked it over and over again. Hope you have some ideas, what am I doing wrong.

Nevermind! I solved it on my own and the solution is: The debugger "Locals" window did not show any result, but when I traced the information it was clearly shown in the "Output" window. Just lost one day on this...
