We are currently working on warehouse configuration in SAP S/4HANA Cloud (2502 release) and are facing a limitation related to the use of fixed bin strategy alongside the general storage area putaway rule within the same storage type.
When we enable the “Use Fixed Bins” indicator in the storage type configuration (via SSCUI 103045), the system only allows us to select the “Addition to Existing Stock/Empty Bin” as the Putaway Rule.
As soon as “Use Fixed Bins” is enabled, the “General Storage Area” rule becomes unavailable in the drop-down list.
Our current storage type BL01 uses the General Storage Area strategy, and it has been working as intended for dynamic bin determination.
However, we now have a requirement to implement Fixed Bin allocation for certain products in the same storage type, but this is not supported due to the system restriction mentioned above. if we change to Addition to Existing Stock/Empty Bin” as the Putaway rule it hampers our ongoing process.
Request clarification before answering.
Hi @Shubham120798 ,
the idea of "General Storage Area" is to have a storage type, where all products are just collected in one bin and there is no real putaway logic. An example would be the CL-AREA.
If you want to use the fixed bin strategy, I'd propose you create another storage type for these bins.
Best regards,
Christian
